make him work the cost back, 60$ of work = 1 game.
You know, if you had no intent on buying something or you changed your mind about something, you can let the cashier know and they'll just put it aside without a problem, it's quick and easy. The fact that you actually bought them because of the long line and you were afraid of making a fuss shows how spineless you are and you clearly aren't fit to be a parent. The worst that could happen is that your child will throw a tantrum and if he did, punish him when you get home. Yes, I can see that it's embarrassing when your child throws a tantrum in public, but you have to be ready for that sort of thing meaning you must know how to deal with it if the time ever comes. Your child needs to learn that he can't have everything he wants in life and this experience shows him that he can because of how spineless you are. Grow a spine and show him who's boss. You have nobody to blame for this but yourself, and you don't deserve any sympathy.
They're now birthday presents for all his friends. He can't play them.
Holy God lady. Learn to be a parent and say no. ydi

Here's an idea. Put the damn games back and discipline your kid.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you need to take control of your life before your son ends up the most spoiled, demanding child you've ever met. You taught him a lesson today - "Mom won't cause a scene, so I can get away with whatever I want in a public place".
