Today, I was out shopping with my son and unbeknownst to me, he had secretly added a bunch of expensive games he wanted to the trolley. I was too embarrassed at the till to make a fuss as there was a huge line behind me. I watched as my normal £50 shopping bill climbed to over £400. FML

Here's an idea. Put the damn games back and discipline your kid.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you need to take control of your life before your son ends up the most spoiled, demanding child you've ever met. You taught him a lesson today - "Mom won't cause a scene, so I can get away with whatever I want in a public place".

Your behavior informs his behavior - be an adult and love your child by providing boundaries for him. How else is he going to understand the real world, which is far less forgiving?

I would hide them, not him play them (keep them in the packaging) and then return them.

Wow... you are totally whipped by your own kid. Grow a backbone and teach that spoiled brat who's boss. What are you teaching him about the real world? You were too embarrassed to put stuff back? Uh... I'm sure you're not the first parent who'd get to the counter, find shit their kid threw in the cart, and say, "No, you are not getting this," and take it out without paying for it. Letting kids get away with everything puts them on the path to believing that no action has consequences. You better start being a parent... I hope your kid isn't in his teens. Otherwise, it tells me that this kid has gotten everything he's wanted his whole life. Parenting fail, sorry.

well hope you didnt let him take the games at that point you take the games in packaging and receipt back the next day and get money. either way it happens this on you next time discipline the kid instead of letting him get away with it. seriously parents these days just dont know how to discipline their kids when i was young and dumb and did that kinda crap i got an ass whoopin and grounded and nothing. granted i was smart never did that crap cause i knew the outcome. thanks to having an older brother try all the tricks lol.

350£ for the games? What the hell did he get? Even AAA titles are 40-50 at most. Surely you would have noticed that many DVD cases in the trolley

Pull your head out of your kids ass, and be a damn parent. It's no wonder society is going to shit. Everyone is to scared to discipline their kids, so they grow up to be self entitled dipshits.

sell of those games and teach your son a lesson

m'am you can't let this slide. it'll spoil your child and ruin you financially. im sure you are aware of this but wanted to reitarate.

My brother did this once, and my mom did the same thing. The only difference was she made him pay her back for all the games, and then an extra like twenty bucks for interest or something like that. He spent all summer mowing lawns and shit, and even had to sell most of the games to pay her back, cuz he was grounded until his dept was cleared, meaning he couldn't even play the games. It was great. XD
