Today, I was out shopping with my son and unbeknownst to me, he had secretly added a bunch of expensive games he wanted to the trolley. I was too embarrassed at the till to make a fuss as there was a huge line behind me. I watched as my normal £50 shopping bill climbed to over £400. FML

Here's an idea. Put the damn games back and discipline your kid.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you need to take control of your life before your son ends up the most spoiled, demanding child you've ever met. You taught him a lesson today - "Mom won't cause a scene, so I can get away with whatever I want in a public place".

Congratulations, you just taught your son to be a little shit. The only embarrassing thing about this is your parenting. YDI 100%

You are spineless person, and I weep for people that will have to deal with yours son, when he grows up entitled little shit that thinks everything should be given to him and nothing is earned, and I am quite sure you will make this prediction come to fruition.

Your kid is a little shit... No offense but you need to tell him he can't do this shit, punish him severely and return the games.

Are you kidding me?! You make as big a scene as possible and hopefully HE'LL be so embarrassed he won't ever pull that stunt again... And I'd take every single bit of technology away from him

I usually don't comment on posts but I feel like I have to on this one. To the people saying that she should take control of her life and just have made a scene, no. Some people have anxiety and actual problems that make it impossible for them to actually do so. Like me. I would have had a full blown anxiety attack if I had to physically remove all of the games and made people wait on me. Making him pay back the loss for the re-sale sounds like it would have been a better idea in this case.

But as a parent, it's a little different. I have anxiety issues, too, but a parent needs to be able to discipline their child in order to have them grow up being a productive, non-snotty member of society. OP could have left the games in the cart and told the cashier they didn't want them--no making people wait, but still getting the message across to their kid. The cashier would've almost certainly just moved the cart out of the way until someone could put them back. No scene needed to be caused if OP wasn't comfortable with that, but the kid wouldn't get off scot free with a few hundred £ of games, either.

If i had done that when I was a kid, my mother would have whopped my ass in front of the whole line.

You're an adult so act like one. If you don't stand up and teach your kids how to behave, they're gonna think that you're a pushover and will probably try to recreate these kinds of circumstances to get what they want.

This is the worst FML I've seen in a long time. How could something this stupid get published?

Listen to #1 Youre the kids mother. ******* act like it!
