You completely deserve it. You're the parent and should have said nope. He's going to be a spoiled rotten little shit no thanks to you. Its parents like you that make me wish my kids didn't have to grow up with this future generation. Nothing but a bunchof pushovers. Let him look like an idiot throwing a tantrum in public. People will applaud you for sayingno instead of giving in
Since you have the games now, I would ground him and make up him work extra hard to pay back the money for the games, and only once he has paid them all off, will he get them. If he earns pocket money, decrease the amount he earns too as punishment,
Great why to teach your child that he gets whatever he wants
all you had to do was say "oh, I'm sorry, i didn't put these in the trolley, I'll just leave them" your son knows he can get away with it now, enjoy your massively increased shopping costs because this won't be the last time it happens now
My daughter regularly grabs whatever she can and throws it in the cart. Guess what we do? Bring it back out. You just taught your son he can get anything he wants. Good job with the parenting.
...as a hispanic unicorn my mother would have gone and been like you better put all that shit back or imma get the chancleta or el cinto when we get home
to whoever spent that money. this is what I do. I let my children put whatever in the cart as we go along. if I deem it worthy for our grocery shopping I allow it. if not its back to the shelf. I let them pick snacks for school since they are the ones eating it. toys and games are just plain no, unless I'm actually taking them to buy something for being good girls. you need to take control, your the parent. my 7 year old has some temper and mood. but all in all she listens to me and loves me. even if she's gonna hate me for 4 hours at the end of the day and go to bed at least by morning she's forgotten about it and we do it again ?
keep the games to yourself. dont let him play them. maybe you'll even enjoy them. Or just return them

Here's an idea. Put the damn games back and discipline your kid.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you need to take control of your life before your son ends up the most spoiled, demanding child you've ever met. You taught him a lesson today - "Mom won't cause a scene, so I can get away with whatever I want in a public place".
