Today, I was pulled over by a police officer for speeding. After writing the ticket, he asked me why I was wearing a surgical mask. I told him that swine flu was found in our area and I was scared. He thought that I was insulting him and wrote me another ticket. FML

I'm guessing you actually said "pig flu", not "swine flu", didn't you?

Hilarious. I know a guy who has believed for over three years now that bird flu will bring the end of the world. Soon as I saw the news I sent him a message saying OMG - flu outbreak and this one's got ur name on it!

hahaha I'm sorry, but it's common knowledge that cops are ignorant ... very little education is needed to become a cop and the type of person who becomes a cop usually isn't very up to date on current affairs. so it's your fault ... sorry about the ticket though

From the CDC: "Human-to-human transmission of swine flu can also occur. This is thought to occur in the same way as seasonal flu occurs in people, which is mainly person-to-person transmission through coughing or sneezing of people infected with the influenza virus. People may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose." So, driving around with a surgical mask on is lame, unless your passenger (which you didn't have) has swine flu. I'm clicking "you deserved that" for being such a paranoid retard. Chicken Little much?

#36, it's SWINE flu, evidentally the cop thought he was was referring to him, not knowing that Swine Flu is a type of flu, easy mistake to make if you're not up on your medical terminology. Also, YDI for being incredibly overprotective, although chances are you got that from your parents, who may not have known that an incredibly clean environment is bad or a childs long term health, as they never build a full immune system, they are more easily infected by many germs. Luckily my parents were a bit lazy and held only the minimum level of cleanliness around the house, let me play in the dirt, etc, so i now have a fully developed immune system, all due to my parents slothery. Gotta love 'em! P.S. I retract my YDI if you have some illness that weakens your immune system.

Appeal that shiz. Cough a lot in court.

You sound a tad uptight. The officer probably gave you a ticket because you didn't sound like a fun person or something.

a ticket for what? I figure this ones a lie
