Today, I was putting the finishing touches on my portrait of a young boy in art class. I asked my teacher if she could help correct the bad parts of my portrait. She said, "Well that would take all day and I just don't have the time." She was serious. I thought this was my best work yet. FML

She shouldn't be teaching if she isn't going to be more constructive with her criticisms. =/

Those who can't teach, teach art. And have poor social skills.

I love how this FML turned into a whole touchy-feely subject. Oh my god you guys, shut up already. We don't care what you think about art teachers, or the OP's art. She didn't ask for advice or anything from us, did she? Just to read her FML. It's a good illustration, but an FML. Get over it. Don't give her advice, she's gotten enough already. I thought we were supposed to comment saying "FYL" or "that doesn't really suck." Not give her crap...I mean advice. Not like she's gonna read all of this. Now go to a teen magazine and decided to answer teenager's questions on whether or not they should ask a boy out, or what they should do about their family, NOT HERE.

LOL #62 (superman8). you're made of win.

Obviously it wasn't your best work yet. Or maybe it was and you still suck. Either way.

reminds me of my art teacher back at bf high school... she was pure EVIL!

She's a bad art teacher. Remember this: all art, no matter what form, is beautiful. It isn't the artist's skills or techniques that makes it beautiful- it's the artist's dedication to creating beauty. The artist's joy in being creative and expressing him or herself. The artist's love of making people smile.

She's jealous. Teachers tend to get jealous where their students out-do them at something. Or even if they're just better looking/younger than them. I'm sure your painting was really good [:

its prob perfect alerady and you have nothing to correct =]

Yeah, my art teacher in highschool always seemed very defeated. Like she wanted to be a famous artist, and she got stuck with this gig. I dropped my 'Intro 2D Art' Class 3 weeks in, because I couldn't hand having someone so lackluster for a teacher. Seriously though, just make it look how you want it to look, and forget about it's imperfections.
