Today, I was stopped in the grocery store by a stranger, who berated me, quite loudly, for going out in public in my pajamas. I had just gotten off work and was wearing scrubs. FML

Innocent question to the community and OP: do scrubs harbour bacteria? Is it unhygienic to wear clothes that have ben exposed to a hospital environment in a grocery store? Thanks.

Some people are too quick to judge. FYL.

Who cares either way! It's your life, people shouldn't have a say in what you wear. (Unless you chose to wear nothing, then it might be a problem) but still, they should have kept their mouth shut.

What the f*** did you do in a grocery store with scrubs on???

Probably shopped for groceries.

I hope that bacteria appreciate the little discover tour outside the hospital.

People don't care how they talk to others now a days. I would have just smiled and asked the stranger are you really that dumb or just to blind to know the difference.

You're making more money then them so who cares.

My mom is a nurse and she always wears hers home

You wore your scrubs after your shift? Although it is a hassle to get changed after a 12.5 hour shift I still think we should. I get annoyed when I see hospital staff wearing uniforms outside when their shift has finished.

Seriously? Why does it matter to you? I wear mine before AND after work because I don't have time to change between class and my shift. I can guarantee you DONT know it's a hassle if you're complaining about us wearing scrubs to places. Unless you're actively touching my scrubs while I'm shopping, you probably won't catch anything. Mind your own business and don't get put out by what other people wear. Thanks.

Not trying to be funny but I work as a nurse at a hospital, so I do know that it is a hassle sometimes but I respect the fact that we should change back into our own clothes after working. I don't want to spread anything I might have come into contact with with others outside the hospital.

And who says that OP works in a hospital? There are any offices and clinics that also wear scrubs, you know. Even the people that don't get into any contact with the patients are still required to wear scrubs. OP didn't specify where she works, so you can't say that. You don't know exactly where OP works. You're jumping to conclusions just like the idiot in the grocery store did (I am not calling you an idiot by the way, by no means).

I would have laughed in his face and told him to mind his own business.

I hope you later told that you were a docter and could save the life of one of his loved ones

Scrubs are not public attire. Nobody wants to picj out oranges from a person who was just around a bunch of disease and death. Be more sanitary.

OP never say they worked in a hospital. For all we know, OP is a receptionist, scribe, medical biller, etc at a doctor's office, like neurologist, orthopedist, etc. No diseases or death there.
