Not everyone is a romantic. I'm sure he expresses his feelings in other ways, I mean you guys ARE married which would lead me to believe (could be wrong) that you love each other for some reason or another. What he said was pretty shallow... But he's also a man.
So did you get a boob job? You'd probably get the attention you want, good and bad.
I can't say that I agree with what he said, but I will admit that it's annoying as hell when a girlfriend comes along and says something along the lines of "how come you never do that anymore?". How do you honestly expect anyone to react to that?
My (now EX) husband said the same thing. But my new, gorgeous DDs still weren't enough for him to give up World of Warcraft. But my new boyfriend loves them!
What a dick!
YDI for saying you 'deserve' to be treated that way. You shouldn't have to be spoiled with gifts or compare him to other people to be happy in the relationship. Some of the strongest relationships have never had any of that. Plus, what have you done romantic for him lately? It doesn't seem to me you're very caring and lovey if you come in from work and attack him when he's relaxing. The answer you got should be no suprise.

He's an ass.
Damn that really does suck. Guys like that make us all look bad.
