Today, I was tending the cash register. I scanned a lady's items which totaled $89.68. She paid with a $100 bill. I gave her $11.32 change. She angrily gave back the extra dollar and complained about "schools nowadays". I'm an AP Calculus student. FML

wait huh she got mad cuz you gave her an extra dollar by mistake :-/

Doesn't the cash register tell you how much change to give? You may want to reconsider your major if reading 4 (four) numbers on a screen is confusing.

I guess no user here has worked on a register, those bills could of stuck together not that the OP can't count or is dumb

I don't know about you, but I don't keep my 1 dollar bills in with the 10s.

Mistakes happens, but be more careful. At least she gave it back.

you're a moron for taking offense at that woman's ignorance. arithmetic is not math.

The introductory sentence on the Wikipedia article: "Arithmetic or arithmetics is the oldest and most elementary branch of mathematics..." I take offense at your ignorance.

Why are you pointing out that you're an AP Calculus student? Though anyone can make a math mistake (even people in high level math classes), that isn't exactly a good defense here. It also has nothing to do with her comment about "schools nowadays."

Seems less like bragging and more like, "Oh crap, and I'm an AP Calculus student! Facepalm." At least that's what I got from it.

Someone needs to practice what they preach.

Doesn't the amount to give pop up when you key it into the register?
