For non-christian, jesus is just another historical or mythical figure - like greek philosophers or deities. Unless you're priest or historian doing research on this era, information about jesus will be useless for you. She could've thought this way because, for example, in her childhood somebody said that as a joke and since that time she simply didn't encounter situation where somebody would correct her. Which is entirely possible. For comparison, language knowledge is important, arithmetics are important, literacy is important. Those are critical skills/pieces of information. "Who killed jesus" knowledge? It doesn't really matters - you can live for decades without ever needing it. I wish there were less judgemental/arrogant people that look down at people that don't know something. Person that doesn't know something isn't stupid - because he/she can still learn missing info when necessary.
