Today, I went camping with my husband. We drove 11 hours to his favourite site before he remembered he didn't put the tent in the car. FML

That's what I was thinking.... Forgetting the major part of camping... Like going skydiving and forgetting your parachute. Like going to have sex with your girlfriend and forgetting that you don't have one.

I'd say that at least he won't do it again, but my hubbie went swimming with his phone in his pocket twice this month, so maybe he will. As they say can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

I'm amazed at the people suggesting OP go to Walmart (no such thing in Australia, btw) or stay in a motel. Where do you think they're camping, in the mall carpark? If I was driving 11 hours to camp, I'd want to be somewhere remote and isolated. Otherwise, what's the point?

Well there has to be somewhere closer than 11 hours away to obtain some form of shelter. Even if the nearest store/motel is 2 hours away,it's better than going home.
