Today, I went over to get some ice cream. I found a rare parking spot in front of the store, and even had change in my pocket. After feeding the meter, A lady comes up to me and tells me that the meter was free after 8 o'clock. I paid 50 cents for it. I was 50 cents short for my ice cream. FML

Today, my daughter asked for a dollar to buy ice cream from the ice cream truck while I was on my computer working. Out of my wallet she took a fifty dollar bill. The ice cream man got a big tip before driving off. FML

Today, I went to buy some frozen yogurt. I filled up a cup and the cashier rung it up. The total price was $6.92. I only had $5 in my wallet. So I gave her the $5 bill and went to my car to get more money. Little did I know, there was no money in my car. So I drove off. Leaving the $5 behind. FML

Today, I gave my friend a ride to town so she wouldn't have to pay the $10 to park. While waiting to pick her up, I grabbed a bite to eat. Upon returning to my car, I found a $55 parking ticket on my windshield. FML

He could mean using a debit card. Those work on a "how much cash do you have" basis. When you run out, you can't buy anything with it until you replenish your account. Or they could be like a friend of mine and just using a credit card so they can establish good credit. Credit cards really aren't a problem if you pay your bills like you're supposed to. OP: It's a pretty mild thing to post an FML over, but I don't see why everyone is giving you guff for wanting ice cream. Like no one else has had a strong craving for a specific food and gotten disappointed when they couldn't obtain it... It's normal. However, there should have been a sign on the meter saying when you didn't need to pay, so you should have been paying attention. Plus you really should try to carry at least a little extra cash on you. I clicked both YLIF and YDI for that.

Hey, I use a credit card for most everything, and I am debt free. There's a difference between using a credit card, and using a credit card improperly. I get cash back and make money off of my credit card, so don't judge.
