Today, I went to a coffee shop with my friend. The guy rang her up and said it was only a dollar as he winked at her $10 purchase. Then he rang me up at completely full price. She got his number and I got to be the ugly friend once again. FML

I don't understand why nobody is congratulating op for not being attractive to an obvious criminal. Anyone who steals from their work place to "score" with a hot chick is a criminal. And about the friend, she obviously has does not have much integrity either or she would have honestly tried to correct his obvious under charge. I agree with other posters here who say you need to find new friends.

To be fair, he may have put some of his own money in the drawer to cover it. I've done that when running a cash register if a friend of mine wants to buy something but doesn't have change or whatever. Honestly, I think the OP sounds pretty entitled. Perhaps the barista already knew her friend?
