Today, I went to a new dentist because I've been experiencing occasional toothache. Upon seeing my x-rays, he noticed something odd. Apparently, during a root canal a while ago, a piece of an instrument broke off, and has been lodged within ever since. FML

This happened to my mother, she had to get her tooth pulled out.

Wow! That's nuts! I hope you get compensated for it!!!!

That is truly appalling. Not that the instrument broke - that must happen sometimes - but that your original dentist didn't tell you what had happened. You may not be able to sue, but there must be a regulatory body for dentists. They would surely be outraged that a member had done something like that and the chances are the dentist can't practice without a registration. You should certainly complain to your original dentist, work out who their regulated by and threaten to take the issue up with them.

I would sue him , and make sure he knows what he did.

Nah, they probably charged more, for the broken tool.

The original dentist must have realized that part of the tool broke off, that's ridiculous that rather than just telling you and removing it the wanker let you walk away with it still lodged there!
