Today, I went to a new dentist because I've been experiencing occasional toothache. Upon seeing my x-rays, he noticed something odd. Apparently, during a root canal a while ago, a piece of an instrument broke off, and has been lodged within ever since. FML

This happened to me!! I had a root canal done when I was 13. 15 years later I found this out the hard way when I got an infection and had it pulled. Pain for nothing, just to pull it out. At least I got a day off from school though!

That happens all the time it's not a big deal and of you really had a root canal all the nerves in your tooth would be gone so you wouldn't feel it

About a month ago I had my back tooth taken out and my dentist showed me a small metal shard she found in my tooth. After some discussion with her dental nurse they agreed that the bevelled end meant it was probably from a needle. I don't know which of my previous dentists left it there but at least it's gone now.

55- Just reading that I was not impressed. You didn't argue that? They screw up and charge you extra. What the hell?
