Today, I went to get a facial. I forgot my contact case so I put them into paper cup. My beautician thought it was leftover water from someone else, and threw my only pair of vision aid away. I scuttled home half blind. FML

There should be absolutely no reason to remove contacts for a facial.

I'd have to agree that your life is ****** if not for the fact that you took out your only pair of contacts in a public place and then left them lying about. It's not hard to ask for a pen to label the cup as not being trash. Unless they're colored contacts, they've very difficult to notice floating in a liquid to begin with. It can sometimes take weeks for your contact order to come in, YDI for not having extra pairs on hand. Not only that, but you should always have a spare pair or your glasses in your bag just in case. Not to mention the fact that a facial is for your face, not your eyeballs, and you shouldn't have taken them out in the first place.

nobody I know makes a habit of carrying around a spare set of contacts or glasses. My husband wears contacts and my father used to, neither of them carry/carried around a spare set, or their glasses. My best friend alternates between her contacts and glasses, and she sort of carries a spare set because her sunglasses are prescription, so she can wear them if she absolutely has to, but she doesn't carry a spare set of contacts if she's wearing contacts. I really don't think it's so ridiculous to go out of the house with only one pair of contacts (the pair you're wearing). What is ridiculous, is to take them out for a facial - and then not label the cup you put them in, or at LEAST make sure everybody in the room knows they're there!

you both are so ******* stupid. this fml is proving my point of carrying glasses. it is easy for a girl ,especially since they have purses to carry shit in, to bring a spare pair of glasses. so **** off, the fml could have been avoided if she brought glasses.

if you put them in a paper cup, you wouldn't be able to put them back in your eyes without solution anyway so it doesn't matter either way you would have gone home blind.
