Today, I went to get my first tattoo. When I told the man that I wanted Tinkerbell on my lower back area. He snorted and told me that I was way too old to have Tinkerbell on me, and that Disney characters are only cute on people 35 and younger. I'm 23. FML

I think what he was trying to say is that you won't be under 35 forever, and should think about something that's permanent a bit more.

I assume that at some point in your life, you are planning on being 35.

Unless they eat potatoes. Did you realise that every person who ate potatoes between 1800 and 1892 has since died. This is a 100% death rate!! I think the FDA needs to open an investigation into this horrifying statistic. If the OP eats potatoes, she will eventually carc, possibly even before she reaches 35!

I'm sensing slight fakeness, only for the fact tattoo artists don't normally give opinions. For the fact it's business, money, you wouldn't want to go insulting a customer. Also, tramp stamp? Why are things like that considering so trampy, most I've seen are along the lines of dead mother, and father dedications. Yet I'll be getting loads of "tramp stamps". **** what the people say. Although Tinkerbell? Really? I'm fourteen, and I hate all that Disney shit now. ALSO: "Lower back area." not many people are going to be seeing it... Of course it'll sag when you're older, but what's it matter? You'll be so close to dying, WHO'LL GIVE A FUUUUCK.

"Tramp stamps" does not refer to tattoos in general. It refers to tattoos placed on the lower back, an area that a lot of women have chosen for their tattoos to be placed, earning its name. To the OP, YDI. You wanted Tinkerbell permanently etched into your skin? At 23, that will look stupid, and at 50, it will look even more stupid especially as a tramp stamp. The dude did you favour.

Congrats on living under a rock for the pas few years and not knowing what a "tramp stamp" is. It's not just any tattoo; "tramp stamps" are the ones near the base of the spine, right above the ass. If you've seen the movie 'Wedding Crashers,' it is the proverbial "bulls-eye." Tinkerbell is a character for young girls, now more than ever, so it's not exactly cool to have her tatt'd in a place that one day will be not just be a beacon for potential coitus, but also possibly splattered with semen. I hope this has brought you up to speed.

"I'm sensing slight fakeness, only for the fact tattoo artists don't normally give opinions." and then later... "I'm fourteen.." So, how exactly do you know that? Most reputable tattoo parlors won't let people under the age of 16 inside the place, but I guess that's not necessarily true everywhere. Perhaps you're personally acquainted with several tattoo artists that have told you without a doubt that they don't normally give opinions? I'm sure there are a lot that will just bow to the power of the almighty dollar and allow idiots like OP here to get a Tinkerbell tattoo and think it's a good idea. However, there are plenty that might make their opinion know in one way or another, for better or for worse. If you really like your idea, and it means something to you, you'll get it regardless of artist opinion, and if you're that easily dissuaded, then it's probably a good thing that the artist is willing to make you feel like a fool.

Not everyone gets a tattoo for others to see. Also you are 14, the chances of you stepping into a tattoo parlour are slim to none. I would be a little wierded out if my artist tattooed whatever i wanted without question

I'm sure some tattoo artists will do whatever art you suggest. However, they also have reputations to keep up. They know you'll tell people who did your tattoo. They wouldn't want to lose future business by inking something that they think would look bad.

I am tattooed and know that every good tattoo artist wil give you their opinion, whether or not it's what you want to hear. They know what looks good and what doesn't, but will ultimately leave the choice to you. They want you to not have regrets. It's a lot more painful to get a removal than to get tattooed.

15 epic win! And it might not be a tramp stamp. OP never said it was on her lower back.

you really wanted a tramp stamp of Tinkerbell? you deserve it just for that!

Nevermind, I do see you corrected yourself two posts down. *facepalm*

Wow sry OP did say it was her lower back... My mistake

Oh come on people, "Tramp Stamp" is just a derogatory name for a tattoo in a specific place because it's so common because it's easy to put any image there and still have it look nice since its a relatively flat surface. Also, unless your grandmothers are skinny dipping fanatics, who cares what it will look like when the skin get old and wrinkled. Enjoy the tattoo, live your youth.

@28 Hey! Not all of Nevada is that cool! Only people living in Las Vegas (like myself) are that cool. Everywhere else is just a waste of land and money.
