Today, I went to my local Walmart to grab a few groceries, and while at the checkout line I grabbed two chocolate bars for a snack. The cashier gave me a look and mumbled under her breath, "Surprise, surprise." I'm pregnant, asshole. FML

Your life doesn't suck. HER life sucks, on account of her being a total bitch.

I don't think that cashier realizes just how close she was to being killed on the spot.

Pregnant and a thief! Eating candy before you pay for it is stealing!

Where in the wold did she say she ate before she paid...?

Also it is not stealing as they allow you to drink drinks and eat food before you pay for them. I have seen many a people go to a cash register with an empty bottle because they drank it while they were in the store and they paid for it.

All I can say is thank goodness for self service check outs. Don't have to deal with the cashiers crap. Lol

I love how many people on here want to jump on OP for buying candy without knowing her weight, what her normal eating habits are, or if she was even buying them for herself. Chances are, if she's getting good prenatal care, she already knows how much she should gain, and what's healthy. A little candy every now and then isn't exactly a huge indulgence. Even if she's overweight, it doesn't give a stranger the right to comment on her appearance, especially under those circumstances.

Come on, that's a stupid thing to say. You can definitely eat chocolate while pregnant. If you were just to google it, you would find that studies say that eating chocolate while pregnant may help with having happier babies. Of course it's bad to eat lots of sugar during pregnancy, because it could lead to pregnancy diabetes, but two bars of chocolate is not that much.

Tell that to the asshat who did the same thing to me the other day. I'm at 34 weeks, and according to my doctor, right at proper weight for someone as far along as I am, but because I have trouble bending over, some jerk thought it was okay to tell me I'd have less trouble if I would lose weight. I'm 5'8 and was 135 before I got pregnant. Some people make comments because they suck, not because of anything legitimate. And you might want to learn a little more about recommended pregnancy diets before you go around judging people. Chocolate isn't on the "list to avoid", and it's far less likely to cause problems to the fetus than saturated fats and excessive amounts of sodium. Women are encouraged to indulge in junk sparingly, eat more fresh foods than frozen or fast, and above all stay hydrated. A candy bar here and there is only dangerous if the woman has gestational diabetes-hardly a tipping point or an excuse to make rude personal comments .

In NZ we have a law that states you need a medical certificate to fly after 28 weeks of pregnancy. One lady was asked for a medical certificate by a flight attendant (in front of a whole line of people), but she wasn't even pregnant. There was a photo of her along with the article about it, and she was just an average sized woman. Some people are just assholes.

Unless the flight attendent did this rudely, s/he was just doing their job.

At least the employees at your Walmart speak English.

I would've asked for the supervisor, and/or manager.

You shouldnt be eating chocolate bars while pregnant anyways.
