Today, I just got back from school with my mouth feeling like a bomb site, and also very hungry. I just got my braces installed yesterday, and I have to wear them for 18 months. I can barely eat anything solid, which means I will be hungry more often. It's going to be an awesome 18 months trying to focus on school! FML

Having braces doesnt suck.. its normal. But what is GOING to suck is actually wearing them. It HURTS like hell .. your lips get BROKEN inside the mouth. The pain lasts for a week. And then every time u meet orthodontist (every month) its going to hurt AGAIN .. for some days. .. I have braces :D

i have braces, ive had them on for prom, grad, weddings, and will for college too. ive also had mouth surgery, so ive had chains, wires, and holes in the roof of my mouth. My brother had his on for 6 years. i win.

You can't decide when you get braces. I didn't get them until I was 14 because my teeth weren't in the right positioning to be moved around or something. It's not about when you feel like getting them, it's about when your teeth are ready for braces.
