Today, I went to my son's high school play. The moment I arrived at the auditorium, I shouted out his name to let him know I made it. Thinking I was a student, a teacher yelled, "SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN!" Scared out of my mind, I quickly obeyed, to mass giggling from the kids. FML

I don't know about you deserving it, or you being f'd, but I do know that a teacher telling a student, or anyone, to "shut up and sit down" is rude, and unacceptable. I'd be scheduling an appointment with the principal to discuss the way the students are treated. And, before everyone goes off on me, yes, it is appropriate for a teacher to say "be quiet and sit down." "Shut up," when used in this manner, is rude, and teachers shouldn't be using it with students.

#33 - I agree. Where I live a teacher would never ever tell a student to shut up, and students are expected to return that courtesy. If the teachers curse, how can they expect the students to not curse? FYL for living in a bad area.

Are you sure the teacher thought you were a student and not just someone being rude as hell in a theatre? Because YDI for yelling in a theatre, even a high school auditorium. What the hell were you thinking? He'd figure out you were there when you, you know, told him later like any sane adult. I bet you sing along during musicals, too.

Omg this sounds like an episode of skins :L on the first series :) when chris sounds up and says "i'm in love with. . ." "sit down chris" LOL :L I would of actually cried with laughter if I was there :L
