Today, I went to my son's final band performance. I also have a busy toddler, so I ended up watching most of the performance in the hallway on a tv monitor. In the middle of the awards ceremony, my toddler pulled the fire alarm. Everyone had to evacuate the building. FML

Wow. How did a toddler reach the fire alarm?

So as the parent/legal guardian, do you pay the $500+ fine and 6 months in jail? You need to watch your child to make sure they don't get into trouble. A babysitter to watch the child at home costs less than the fine for pulling the fire alarm for no reason does. The good news is as a minor his criminal record will be sealed when he turns 18, unless he keeps the thug life up. (Doesn't impact employment, if they dig they can see it but cannot access whatever is in the record to see what he did).

Toddlers will climb on furniture to reach things.

I assumed that she was holding the toddler and the fire alarm was on the wall behind her.

It happened to me. In Elementary schools, they are *just* within reach. It was awful

Then you pay attention. You are in a public place, you don't let your son alone and touching stuff

Don't lie to us OP, we all know you did it because you were mad that your son didn't get any awards.

Good luck trying to explain this to the authorities.

its a toddler not a 30 yr old name jim ok like **** calm down helicopter hannah

how could a toddler possibly reach the fire alarm. and why the hell weren't you paying attention? ydi

Babysitter next time? Also wondering how a toddler pulled a fire alarm.

The fire alarm isn't so easy to pull and usually you have to break the glass to reach it. And even if it was easy for a toddler to do so, she had to check on him. Probably the other son's performance was ruined because she let her toddler pull the alarm

And yeah, I know you can get distracted, but in that case she had to pay more attention. Did she let the baby wonder around the place while she watched the monitor?

Of course you deserved it, you held a busy toddler next to a fire alarm
