Today, I went to see my gynecologist. She was writing my symptoms up in my chart on her computer. After a little while, I noticed that she had a confused look on her face and was reading something instead. When I took a peek at the computer screen, I saw that she was Googling my symptoms. FML

I've been to 2 different doctor's that searched my problem on wikipedia and then printed the page out for me.

We can see you were first, Fidelis, you have a little #1 to the left of the date and time. And to the OP, I hear that that's not too uncommon, which is really sad, but true.

9, you are a ******* dumbass. Please do join us in the real world, where humans make mistakes, and people don't know everything.

#9 You're so full of shit.. You could get all the straight A's you want and still be a dumbass. Wooo A's in school, but F in LIFE! Sorry, I'd rather have a doctor who's got experience and knows what the **** he/she's doing rather than some bookworm straight A retard.

Doctors do that all the time, it is completely normal. Dumbass.

I figure it's somewhat unreasonable to assume your doctor has every bit of medical knowledge memorized, as there is such a vast amount of information, it'd be near impossible for a doctor to have it all on hand. S/he is probably looking up the symptoms, and if what she reads concurs with what s/he already knows, then that's almost like the doctor getting a consult. I don't really see the problem, except how obvious your doc was in doing that.

#9 - if people had to have straight A's to graduate, then few people ever would. Even someone who makes straight A's can still be confused, or not understand something. We don't know what the gynecologist's grades were in university. For all we know, she may have been at the top of the class. I don't think it's a bad thing that the doctor was researching on google. The internet is a handy resource and everyone should be allowed to use it. But, I also don't think that she should have been looking things up right in front of you. It would have been better for her to have left the room and THEN done it, as opposed to doing where you could see.

you know, im not surprised, with all of the "care" i've been recieving this past year i've been sick. no one knows what's wrong, they all literally just say "i don't know" tilting their heads, confused one doctor actually said to me, "so, what do you this is wrong?" ... wowwwies!

Isn't that what they go to medical school for?

medicine changes almost everyday, if they were to stay on top of it they would be in school everyday with no time to help you. you will learn almost every doctor has used google before

At least you didn't see the tab that read "Get your medical license on-line in 3 easy steps"...
