Today, I joined a gym. I’m overweight and not very athletic, so I was nervous. I looked around and tried a treadmill. I start walking at a chill pace, then got ambitious and cranked it to a "light jog." Within seconds, I tripped, fell, and sent the emergency stop button flying across the room. The gym staff ran over and I swear someone said, “Well, at least he’s trying.” FML

One time I went to the gym. I heard the sound of clapping and got so excited. Turns out it was just my thighs.

I don't know why people pay to go to the gym and just run on a treadmill. Go run outside

I don't understand why people think doing parkour with Olympic weights and no regard for form or safety resembles a thought. But hey, no judgement.

Keep trying. I've been going to the gym most of my adult life. The people I admire most are the people in your shape who persist. It takes a lot of courage and determination to surround yourself with beautiful bodies and keep going. Probably even more courage and determination than those in great shape have ever needed. Wishing you luck.

Or keep the beer and cut back on the belly. It's a win win situation ^__^

That's just your fat trying to stop you. It knows that shit just got real and you're about to get rid of that extra weight. Also pain is just weakness leaving your body. Godspeed OP.

Don't forget the other important part of your regimen: nutrition. Just keep at it and that belly will shrink with time. Good job for even trying
