Today, I went to the hospital in labor expecting a baby boy. I ended the day with identical twins, a baffled doctor, and a husband convinced that our sons can clone themselves. FML

Today, one of my twin sons found out he's going to be a dad. His little sister who loves science ended up telling him that, since he has a twin who is genetically identical, he's genetically the baby's dad too. My son, being a bit dim, took this to mean his brother slept with his wife and hit him. FML

Today, after we had our daughter on purpose, then had twin girls by accident, my husband was going to get a vasectomy while I also decided to get my tubes tied as an extra precaution. At the appointment, they did a scan to make sure I’m not pregnant already… BOOM! I’m 7 weeks pregnant with twins again. FML

Today, after my wife gave birth to another of our daughters, she announced that this was the last one. When I reminded her I still needed a son to carry on my name, she replied, "Well, you've got four girls. You want a boy? Birth him yourself!" FML

Today, I was told I will be having twins; this came as a shock since there are no twins in my family. When I asked my mom about it, she said that she wasn't surprised and not to worry about it because she had "absorbed her twin" and that the problem would "take care of itself." FML

Congrats on having twin boys!! You're going to have so much fun with them. I'm a mother of 2 sets of twins, fraternal girls & identical boys. Although you weren't prepared for twins, I found the National Mother of Twins Club was a huge help in getting settled in for life with twins. Ask the hospital for the number of the local chapter. I'm sure your husband is a little shocked about 2 babies, but trust me, they didn't clone themselves! Good luck with the babies, they really are a miracle!

And when you're in the hospital, the mother usually has the choice of leaving her baby in the nursery so she can rest.

Consider yourself lucky...my sister has a friend who, at her first ultrasound they saw one baby. The next they told her it was twins. And at her gender scan they found the third baby. Id be scared to go back for anymore ultrasounds in fear that they'd keep finding babies, lol.
