Today, I went to the hospital in labor expecting a baby boy. I ended the day with identical twins, a baffled doctor, and a husband convinced that our sons can clone themselves. FML

As a mom to be with a useless doctor I may end up with the same surprise, twins run in my family alot but at 14 weeks I have only had a blood test once so hopefully I can Find out before the baby/babies get here! Congrats!!

Congrats. My doctor found one heartbeat and didn't look for more, we found out during the first ultrasound. It's very common to have a surprise though, babies are tricky!

Here is what happened. I know because I was an unexpected twin. One hides behind the other the whole time. Lol I would probably make a similar Comment as OPs husband though.;-)

Congrats!! Sometimes a twin hides and isn't detected. It's rare, but it happens. I hope everyone in your family is excited and ready to pitch in and help with your unexpected extra bundle.

Presumably it's FML because they were only prepared for one child. I daresay they have to rush out and get a second cot, a second (or double-seater) pram, etc.
