Today, I went to visit some family out of state for my niece's birthday. I couldn't think of what to get an 8-year-old so I got her a Barbie doll. Everyone else got her money, iPods, game consoles, etc. When she got to mine she asked "how do I turn it on?" Then threw it away when she couldn't. FML

Jeez..I didn't get my iPod until I was 18. And I had to buy it myself!!

ungrateful and lacks any manners. seriously I think kids are being robbed of any form of imagination these days. Games aren't a bad thing but kids rely on them way too much now.

Man, thats terrible. Kids these days. Im only 18 but i didnt get my first iPod (classic) and my xbox 360 when i was 13 and i didnt get an iPod touch till 15. And i always am grateful for a gift. That sucks op. what did her parents say?

My sister is 9 and her big thing right now is Monster High dolls. She does have a computer, but its my parents old desk top that she uses to watch kid shows on youtube and play games on nick.com. She LOVES going outside and has never once asked for an iPod. She also has a ds but honestly, at 9 a DS is an acceptable gift. No reason for children to need all these fancy electronics. I didn't get my first phone until I was 12 (almost 13) and it was for emergencies only. I'm 19 now and yes, I have a fancy droid, but I pay for my shit now.

How can people say YDI? Spoiled brats these days... When I was her age i was happy with Some crayons...

What a shame. That little girl must have no imagination at all. Her eyes must be glued to the screen. So many kids(adults to)these days are being brainwashed by their electronics and are forgetting how to function without them.

Take it out the trash. Slap her wit it. Make sure the fingers nd toes point to her face so she can feel tht shit

I didn't have shit like that either, I didn't know what an iPod was till I was 12 or 13, I know someone who buys their kids iPads, iPods, MacBooks, have flat screen TVs in their room and they are all under 12, spoiled to the max!! It's disgusting

My niece was the opposite. She had a Wii, 3 different DS handhelds, an iPod touch, a cell phone, tv in her room, a netbook, and a Kindle. She preferred playing with her Barbie dolls.
