You just caught him trying to prank you. I did the same thing with my nephew when he was 3. I was like 20. He used the litter box and I was the first to spot it. Then I told my sister, "I think there is something seriously wrong with your cat." It was epic. It took her a few minutes to figure out what was really going on but for a few seonds she really did believe. . .
