Today, I worked up the courage to sing at an open mic night. I lost my cool halfway through because all I could hear was laughter. FML

Today, I was at a karaoke bar. After a few drinks, I gave it a go. Halfway through “Total Eclipse of the Heart” I got so into it, I knocked over the mic stand. The mic flew off, hit the DJ, who then hit the emergency stop button, cutting off the music. I froze as the bar erupted into laughter. I did get a free Coke for my “performance,” which was something. that wasnt very nice it takes a lot of guts to be able to stand up and do that in front of people. I say good for you forget what all those people did they were not at all nice :) try again later

Next time don't sing "Wrecking Ball". And don't do it naked.

Sing those high notes no one can reach to screech their ears and then see who's laughing

Aw... I'm sorry OP. We're not all born singers. At least it seems like you entertained your audience all the same. Better luck next time.

They may be laughing at you now, but I would bet you anything they would shit themselves if they had to go up there. At least you had the courage. Stay strong, and don't let those jackasses get to you.

Props to you OP for trying! I can understand the feeling as something similiar has happened to me. But remember, it can only get better from here.

try again! Or use it as material for your new stand up act!

I know how you feel OP. The same thing happened to me. But if it was at a bar, you have to remember those people are drunk..they're probably not laughing at you, but laughing at he fact they're falling of their bar stools. It hurts, but I didn't realize after I lost my cool either.

Just remember, you were the one with the courage to go on stage.
