Today, I wrote a poem for this guy I am falling for. Before telling him that I wrote it, he read it and then laughed at how "corny and stupid" it was because he would "never date someone who could come up with something that lame." The poem was about how vulnerable he makes me feel. FML

It's cool that you had the guts to gave him a poem you wrote yourself, but you really shouldn't write about how vulnerable someone makes you feel. And they're a little overdone, making them even more corny. Not everyone appreciates poetry though.

You should try crushing on skaters who love hot topic, escape the fate, screamo, etc.. They cuss all the time and annoy you SO much, if you wrote them a poem they would start lashing out and insulting it in the worst way possible, seriously

I agree with #3. What century is this? Whatever happened to asking your crush out? Even if the poem was great, I'd still back away from you slowly because it's a little creepy.

Oh well. At least he never knows you wrote it for him. No harm done. You might have felt a little stupid, but it didn't hurt your chances at all. Either way, he's probably a douche. If you wrote me a poem I would think it's kinda cute even if I didn't like the actual poem. Not saying I would date you, but it would be kinda endearing you would do that.

A guy can't say i like this poem it is romantic or whatever when they aren't dating you, they look like less of a man to themselves. They have to be jerks and be all thats stupid. Since when do guys say what they mean all the time?

Sorry, but YDI. Either you're a really bad judge of character to not realize that he wouldn't like that sort of thing (in which case you don't know him well enough to be in love with him) or you're living in a silly delusional world where chick flicks and paperback romance novels are realistic (in which case you're too immature to be in love with anyone at all).

Good for you OP. There was no bad judgment. Sappy or not, you were doing something from the heart. You found out he was a dick and you did something you were afraid to do. #162 - No, he looks like less of a man for laughing. Men dont have to be jerks. If that were true, I'd could just punch you wildly in the crotch and "Sorry, I'm a chick, I have PMS. I can't help it." You need to know some more real men me thinks.
