Today, in a large church youth group, we were told to write our current biggest trial on a piece of paper, crumple it up, and throw it in pile. I wrote "My mother's death and having to leave my friends and family." The one I picked up just said "math." FML

Today, I was a TA for a history class and the class was taking a test. About halfway through, I noticed one kid had a small piece of paper in his hand. I ran up the row, grabbed his test, and ripped it into four pieces. Then I took the note from him. It said "I believe in you, -Mom." FML

Today, I poured my heart out into what had to be my greatest set of lyrics for my band ever, at the same time my teacher was explaining chemical changes to the class. At the end of the lecture he picked up my paper, and set it on fire to demonstrate a chemical change. FML

Today, my friend and I doodled on a sheet of paper trashing our English teacher. Later, I went to English class, and my teacher asked for us to take out a sheet of loose sheet of paper and write an essay. It wasn't until I had written on the whole front and flipped to the back that I realized I was using the doodle sheet. FML

Today, I asked my mom if she'd seen my financial calculator on my way out to an exam. She told me she'd tossed it in the donation pile that she'd taken to the Salvation Army this morning because it was "clutter." I needed it to take an exam required to pass the class, to graduate next month. The only place to buy a replacement was closed. FML

OP, maybe the person that wrote "math" wasn't ready to share something that /personal/ with your group. I wouldn't if I wasn't comfortable or ready to deal with things. I'm sorry for your lose but your reply proves that some people are quick to judge others. Not everyone is an open book with random people.

For some people, that could really me their most serious problem at the moment. I've been all over the map with math -- sometimes I pwn'd its ass and aced tests effortlessly, but other times, I was a clueless idiot. I once got a 42 on a test. The night before that test I had a vivid dream of matrices marching at me and vectors flying at me like spears. If I were asked at that moment what my biggest trial was, math would have been a sincere answer.
