i don't have a mental connection with my fiancee but we have an emotional connection other than loving each other we have nothing on common. Just saying that physical isn't the only option left

He probably just misunderstood when you said "mental", or you don't understand what that really means. Relationships can get by on emotional connections, not necessarily a mental one.

Tbh I don't really like people like you OP. You need to actually tell him what he's doing wrong, and what you need from him, not some super general term like "mental connection".
