Today, is the fourth day of my husband's and my new diet and exercise routine. I've already caught him eating junk food 4 times. He has lost 2 lbs and I've gained 3. FML

Men just lose it easier, it's ****** up, but for the most part true.

Some people have fast metabolisms, dont fret! Just do more cardio and maybe drink a protien shake in place of a meal if you want to gain muscle as well

Don't do it for him or someone else! Do it for yourself!!

maybe hes rigged the weight machine.. or moved it to another surface.. carpet and hardwood are a differemxe of maybe 2 lbs

Remember that muscle weighs more than fat. Sometimes when you begin an exercise program, you gain some weight at first. Which is why they tell you, don't trust the scale in your few weeks. Gains will be seen in other aspects. Not the numbers you see on the scale.

You can't get anything useful from four days, OP. Only weigh yourselves once a week.

losing weight is all about calories in vs calories out. your body has a specific amount of calories needed to maintain your wait. eat less calories than that, and you will loose weight. bodybuilding.com forum has great stickies and forums for info. and last but not least, left weights - free weights.

Doesn't matter. if he's in a caloric deficit he will lose weight even though he eats junk food. If you're in a caloric surplus you'll gain weight

Muscle weighs twice as much as fat so you could be doing better than your husband.

Shit happens OP shit happens.

Weight gain is actually a good thing!! I promise! Your body will gain muscle mass before it burns fat and muscle weighs more than fat, you're making progress I swear! Keep at it and congrats :)
