he's going to suck at first bu it gets better. an ydi if u live in an apartment realize that your not alone and other people have problems with u aswell (most likely) the trombone actually sounds really nice when played well

The trombone is the coolest instrument of all time. And look on the bright side, at least now you know what to get him for his birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah/random gift day. http://www.amazon.com/Humes-Berg-167-Trombone-Practice/dp/B001JN01XI It makes the trombone a LOT quiter, though it does make the instrument pretty sharp and a little harder to play.
