Today, it's day two of my two-month summer job on a Mediterranean cruise ship. I'm incredibly seasick, and the ship is still docked. FML

How did you not know that you get seasick that easily...

why would you get a job on a cruise ship if you get sea sick? unless you didn't know. you could always call in (sea) sick and slip off the boat...

I did overlook the word "Mediterranean," however, while I don't mean to be argumentative, just because it's a Mediterranean cruise ship, doesn't mean its home port is in the Mediterranean. Ships that routinely cruise the Med or the Caribbean often have a home port in the United States, because Americans like to take cruises to those parts of the world. I assume it's the same in other countries.

Seasickness is purely psychological! It's all in your head, get over it!

Motion sickness is not psycological, it has to do with the movement of your stomache causing you to feel sick. Just like how some people get sick on carnival rides.

I thought motion sickness was caused by your body feeling yourself moving but your eyes not being able to see it. But maybe it's that and the stomach thing.

SoultheWolf - This is now your second comment today where I've seen you spreading misinformation. And beachbumm, what you said is no better. Seasickness has NOTHING to do with the movement of your stomach, and it is NOT psychological. It's caused by your vestibular system in your ears sensing movement while your eyes detect no motion. The conflicting signals cause the nausea. Now please stop before someone actually believes you.

People who ask about summer job starting in September..it takes time to get the FML post confirmed, the fact that it says "today" doesn't man that it's when it happened. It's simply an FML rule.

It only takes a day or so for the FML to be approved or denied.

46- oh, I didn't know that since posted fml only once. Though, as mentioned earlier, the word "today" is a must in order to be approved. Maybe she decided to post it just now, even though it happened a while back ago.

46 - It seems to me that sometimes FMLs can take a while to get fully approved or denied, I've seen a couple of the same FMLs in moderation for a few weeks at a time.

It takes a day less than a day, but some people try to re-submit the same stuff. We just expect people to use their heads; our summer ends exactly two weeks from now.

68-Oh, ok.. now it all makes sense. Thank you for clarifying, Sirin.

Summer is practically over... So wouldn't this be a fall job?

It's the beginning of summer in other parts of the world.
