Today, it's my third night of finally living on my own in a house. I can't count the number of times I have run to my knife and pepper spray after hearing "suspicious" sounds. Maybe I'm not ready to be an adult after all. FML

call a friend over fora night or two! or get a dog, he'll keep ya safe :)

Maybe if you get to know your neighbors it may help or accept the fact there are ghosts at your place and just welcome them

If you have to run to get your knife and pepper spray, you might want to reconsider where you keep them.

I think alot of people go through this when they move into their first house. You live in Texas go to liquor store pick up a shotgun and kick back on the couch and get used to the sounds of the new place.

OP. Congratulations on the move. Of course you're scared, it's a big step! The fear will pass. The pleasures of independent living will remain!

It's ok to be afraid, just don't hurt yourself.

I don't think you are ready to make up your own user name either. Let me help -- try ithinkimdatingperdix. No, wait, that one's been used!

Get a dog, if something's up he'll let you know. Don't feel too bad. I'm 33 and have cleared the house room by room with a pistol more than once after hearing things home alone. I guess it's time for a dog for me too.
