Today, it was my first day on the job as a first grade teacher. One student pushed another, so I asked him to apologize. His response? "If you boss me around, I'll tell Daddy you touched me somewhere you shouldn't have." I think I'm now this kid's slave. FML

I'd report that little shit to his parents. Don't let him boss you around or else more and more kids will follow and you'll be miserable. Stand up for yourself!

Is it me, or are children getting less and less respectful at a sickeningly fast rate?

I can't believe what kind of society we raised today. Why the hell would a little kid know to say such a thing? WTF. That's wrong.

Thats so tricky!! If you tell his parents then they might think you're just saying that because you did and you want the kid to seem like a liar! or they might believe you but its a horrible thing they wont think a grade one kid would think that! I wanted to become a primary teacher, but if they are going to b like that then I don't know!

when I read things like this it makes me want to beat the shit out of that little shit

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ I'm sorry if this look like spam, but since there's so many post already. I think the author should look at this. The Best thing you should do, take a recorder and try to get him to say that again. After you get that evidence. Continue treating him like a normal student. Use the evidence if his parents call up/comes up. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I've been teaching for a couple of years. You need to go to your principal and the school counselor and let them know about the situation. Get the other teacher to corroborate with you, since (s)he witnessed the event. The parents do need to be made aware that this happened, but for something as potentially risky as this, you want as much support from your administration as possible. The reason I say the school counselor needs to be involved is because saying things like that is a learned behavior, and it is not a safe behavior for this student. It is okay to ask for help.
