Today, it was my friend's 18th birthday. She had invited us out drinking. I've never had alcohol before and was very excited. I got a call explaining that she had invited one too many and asked me not to come. People bragging on facebook about what a great time they were having didn't help either. FML

What a lame excuse. As if one more person makes a difference. FYL OP.

90% of all Americans who commented on this have commented because they think they're being smart by correcting the legal drinking age. Have you no cultural awareness or are you just blissfully ignorant to everything thats not American?

Ditch the bitch, she doesn't sound like a very good friend.

She's a mean friend. When it's your party u should not invite her

Throw your own party and not invite that person

Why was there a cap on the amount of people that could go?

It's okay, OP; York isn't the best for nights out anyway.

You poor thing. Don't count her as a friend anymore.. An actual friend would have made it work so everybody could come. For one of my friends 21st bday outings we had to literally pile people in the backseat, but nobody had to stay behind :)

I know that feel. time for new friends

Nope, that would be 5 in the UK, though you have to be 18 to buy it.

It's 18 in my country as well, but kids usually start drinking way before that.
