a "single lady" refers to an unMARRIED woman, not a completely single woman. so as long as she's just your girlfriend.. you're fine.

to most people single refers to not being in any type of realationship (married, bf/gf, etc.) but in the song it refers to being unmaried (hence "if you like it shoulda put a ring on it") meaning your girlfrend or friend can leave you if your dont get married basically also its a fun dance song and was probably just having fun so you need to calm down and talk about it if it upsets you enough to post it as an FML also i like the song. fun song. not in love with it

"UrLifeDoesntSuck", why not let people have their own musical tastes instead of telling them what to listen to? You know ONE song they've listened to. Doesn't mean they only listen to top forty.

UrLifeDoesn'tSuck: I do listen to a lot of music other than top 40, I just happen to think that some top 40 music is good, and apparently a lot of people agree.... hence why it's in the top 40, you know? :p Something isn't rubbish just because it's popular and it's only pop music.
