Today, my 13-year-old sister told me that she wants to get pregnant soon to stop her periods for a while. I can't believe we're related. FML

Hey guys OP here. I'm a little late on the follow up but here it is anyway. I obviously complained to my mum who sat her down and told her how painful her pregnancies had been. My sister seemed adequately scared. My sister now insists that she had just been kidding but I know for a fact that she wasn't. And finally I assure you guys if she ever brings a guy home to 'stop her periods' I will personally get rid of him.

Did you explain to her that being pregnant and going through labor is 100x worse than getting a period? And the fact that raising a child isn't exactly a piece of cake either?

No thirteen year old kid should be thinking about getting pregnant

She's obviously being raised correctly! Not.

Periods don't always stop when you're pregnant...

Actually they do. You can bleed yes, but you cannot have a period.

the bleeding and cramps are what she wants to stop which no don't always stop. my dad's an obygn.

I guess she also doesn't realize that most women have a "period" for weeks after having a baby.

Ok so I have a few points to make: #1 The population is around 8 billion and growing at this rate with all the waste and pollution global warming will get worse and earth will end so she should think do I want a child? #2 If she's that serious about not getting her period tell her to get her uterus removed. #3 if she's having sex tell her to take birth control.

Pretty sure no legitimate doctor would remove a healthy woman's uterus just because she doesn't want her period anymore.

No doctor will give a healthy woman a hysterectomy. Not many doctors will give a woman who has severe endometriosis, a hysterectomy.

They make birth control that stops periods. smfh

im probably a bit of a downer for saying this, but it's understandable and she probably just doesn't understand parenthood very well right now,, sorry for typing that

m... big issue in did. respectfully try to suggest her that jumping form a tall building can also solve the problem of frequent period with even more permanent solution. (though after the joke is over u better tell and show here a lot of love so she wont act on it . and also consider some shrink and some nice add about sex and puberty)

I wouldn't be surprised if she was serious. Kids are getting dumber and dumber these days.
