Today, my 15-year-old daughter asked for a ride to her boyfriend's house. It's the same house I've been driving her to for sleepovers with her friend "Kate" for two years. FML

This is a bit of a tough one, but I'm going to have to go with YDI for not taking more of an interest in your daughter's life and not insisting on meeting the parents the first time you dropped her off for a sleepover.

It could be that Kate has a brother, or that she is dating Kate and not a boy at all. If not, then the daughter seems pretty retarded. All it takes is a "Yeah! My boyfriend's house is two doors down from Kate's house." Or something.

Is your daughter maybe dating her friend Kate's brother? Ask her why Kate's house and her boyfriend's house are one and the same. Have you ever met Kate? Has Kate ever come to your house? I am not sure if this is a YDI or a FML because YDI for being suck a lazy parent but also FYL because you just realized what a lazy parent you are.

Parent FAIL Fail for letting kid spend the night w/ people you've never met - the house could be a nudist meth lab. Fail for not being able to talk to the kid about friends and dating. Fail for letting kid treat you like a taxi service. No respect there. I'm sure you'll do better at raising your grandkids - 'cause your daughter's gonna have YOU do that too!
