Today, my 15-year-old daughter asked for a ride to her boyfriend's house. It's the same house I've been driving her to for sleepovers with her friend "Kate" for two years. FML

This is a bit of a tough one, but I'm going to have to go with YDI for not taking more of an interest in your daughter's life and not insisting on meeting the parents the first time you dropped her off for a sleepover.

I love how everyone is trying to play it off as a trust issue LOL. Its so funny seeing people trying to come up with their own Theories about the situation, Its so cute :)

And HOW do you know her boyfriend doesn't have a sister named Kate?

wow, not only do you fail for never meeting this girl your daughter's supposedly been friends with for 2 years, your daughter's also an idiot. Couldn't she have said "yeah, my boyfriend lives down the street from Kate" and then walk there? Altho maybe she knows your so retarded you mite not notice

It would not be uncommon for your daughter to have developed feelings for a best friends brother. However, you fail for not knowing the family who has been responsible for your daughter on multiple occasions over the past few years. Parenting 101......

I don't think you should care. I mean, you fail at parenting, why would this be a shock? And to everyone who assumed Kate is real, the poster put it between quotations... Which means that she may be fictional and her daughter only made her up to hide the fact that she is staying with a guy. And simply meeting the friends' parents is not such a big deal. Only idiots would say it is overprotective. Because if she had done this two years back, her daughter would not have been doing God-knows-what behind her back.

While I do think it may overprotective to demand to meet your daughter's friend's parents, it's kind of strange that you never met the friend herself after two years...really?

I wonder what worse.. realizing your kid lied to you for two years, or realizing she's too stupid to lie about the address of her boyfriend's house

or realizing that she fails as a parent for not bothering to meet "Kate" or her parents for the past TWO years

If I were you I would ground her for taking advantage of your stupidity.

Having a stupid parent and getting grounded? Oh come on, it doesn't fit.

Yeah. Did you maybe think that her boyfriend is Kate's brother? And even if he isn't, you never wondered why you never met this girl for 2 years? Fail.

**** at 15 and retarded for not knowing you would catch that.

Guess the retard doesn't fall far from the tree.
