Today, my 5 year old brother wanted to look through my phone. I know he can't read so I gave it to him. He was, however, able to get at my "private" photo album. FML

Today, my little brother left the house with my phone by accident. He called from his school to ask for my password so he could access his email. When he got home and gave me my phone back, while closing the open apps, my photo gallery was open. When I clicked on it, my naked selfie was open. FML

Today, I woke up from a nap to find my little brother playing some games on my phone. A few hours later I come to find he had deleted all 500 pictures from my trip to Europe last month. He needed more space to download the games. Mom says he's too young to understand what he did wrong. He's 14. FML

Today, I let a guy I like look at my phone. A second later I remembered I had a secret copy of his Facebook profile picture on there to show a friend what he looked like. I was forced to tackle him to get my phone back. FML

Today, my best friend and I were taking bikini selfies in my backyard hot tub when I caught my little brother peeping and taking photos from around a corner behind us. Now I know how he can afford his vapes, despite not having a job and being in middle school. FML

Today, I found my brother tampering with my laptop. He had changed the entire settings, in ways I don't even know how to fix. I finally had to get my mom to threaten him to change it back to its original setting. I'm 15. He's six and can barely get dressed by himself. FML

YDI. Password protect your "pivate" photos if you're going to have them on your phone? Just because he can't read doesn't mean he can't click buttons and happen to come across them? And how on earth can a 5-year-old not read yet? He should at least be able to read simple words? I read Harry Potter when I was 5 years old! Is he not at school yet anyway, I started school aged 4 and I could already read when I started, and it was one of the first things they taught us to do?

Most kids start school the year they turn 5, and if his birthday is after (depending on the district) mid-September, he won't have started school yet because he missed the cutoff. However, unless they have a learning or developmental disability, I would think almost all kids should be capable of reading at least simple things by age five. If they can't, it's probably the parents' fault for not spending enough time with them. Then again, most kids' parents DON'T seem to spend enough time with them. I remember how frustrating early elementary was, when a lot of the kids could barely read the word "the." I didn't realize at the time it was their parents' fault, I just knew they were annoying and I wanted to take the book from them and tell them what it said so we could just get things over with. The story kind of loses all meaning when you spend five minutes on each sentence.
