She's legal...but that gap is disturbing
YDI. It isnt a good idea to call something that is not only illegal, but a demeaning word.
To everyone here who is saying the lawsuit is bogus, will get thrown out, etc. You are forgetting two facts about this FML. 1. He said he called the other guy pedo, AFTER he bragged to EVERYONE at work. in other words, he called him pedo in front of other people. That's the first qualification of defamation right there. 2. We have been given NO information about how this affected the coworker's job, or life. Which means we have no idea whether or not the other qualifications have been met. Like it or not OP, you brought this on yourself by opening your mouth without thinking.
First of all that's definitely an overreaction on his part. Second, that's one hell of an age gap.
he kinda is. thats gross bro
you sir, have won the internet for the day
The age of consent is 16 in majority of countries so she is a consenting adult. It's still weird but it's not paedophilia. Also its "paedo" not "pedo" unless he's taking OP to court for being a pedometer.
Seeing how she is over 18, watch your mouth. You think he wants to hear that shit? Would you? You don't know their relationship so who are you to judge! So now you will be judged

Well, if they've been dating very long, then technically you'd be correct!!
Are you sure it came across as joking? I know we all make mistakes and it happens to all of us - things can just come out wrong and you don't realize it. Either way, that's a bit ridiculous as a course of action for him to take.
