Today, my 6 year old son learned that if you give a mouse a cookie, he will ask for a glass of milk. But if you give a hamster a cookie, he will try to shove the whole thing in his mouth, choke, and die. FML

THis is why I am afraid to give my son a pet. that, and this horrifying incident: I once worked for a tech support company, and this mom with her 8 year old called, saying the computer was "bleeding" so I had them take off the side, to discover the boy's missing hamster, mangled in the fan. True story. Hamsters traumatize children.

I really shouldn't be laughing, but it is such an ironic situation, that it's really impossible not to. How could something so good be used as an unintentional suicide device without the slightest comedic value?? It can not!
