******* California Liberals.
I personally don't think kids should be told they really exist. Specially Santa. The reason for that is because, well, you tell your kid Santa will give them whatever they ask for Christmas if they're good, right? Because Santa is magical so there's absolutely nothing he can't give so there's not reason at all for the kid to not get what they want as long as they're good, then, right? But the people who will actually be giving the presents are not magical. There are things the parents can't give. What will you tell your perfectly well behaved and excited kid when "Santa" can't give him the toy he wants? Too expensive should not be an excuse if Santa is magical and just makes the toys, right? So it's better to have the child believe they weren't "good" enough for Santa to grant their wish? And how do you explain why some kids get better presents? Santa likes them more? They were more well behaved? I just believe in having the child learn the value of money and that mom and dad are doing their very best to get them the present they want but might not be able to - and that that doesn't mean they didn't deserve it. Not believing in Santa never killed my imagination. It made me appreciate my parents and the small gifts I got a lot more, and never feel depressed or betrayed for not getting what I wanted - something I saw my schoolmates feel all the time.
I would definitely complain. It is not up to a teacher to tell a bunch of 8 year olds those characters don't exist but rather the parents the appropriate time.
Come on, if Santa was real how many times by now would he have been shot or chewed up by dogs.
Omg that bitch! My sister didn't even know they were fake until I told her....the sad part was I was 7 and she was 13
That sucks, but I found out the same thing when I was 8, so it was going to happen sooner or later.
She still believed??? It seems like the other kids would tell her .

even worse. my 5 year old nephew had the same experience. his teacher had the same assignment and got the whole class in tears because they all still believed in santa
My sisters are ten and they still believe, so that was a major bitchmove.
