Today, my 8-year-old came home from school crying. Apparently her teacher told the whole class to write about how they felt when they learned that Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy weren't real. FML

even worse. my 5 year old nephew had the same experience. his teacher had the same assignment and got the whole class in tears because they all still believed in santa

My sisters are ten and they still believe, so that was a major bitchmove.

Time to go to the school board and try to have that teacher fired, so that way they can be replaced by someone better... hopefully. Afterwards, go kick the bad teachers ass. I've been known to be a dick, but I would never take a child's innocence away from them like that. Kids need something to believe in, otherwise they might grow up to be a dark person, mind and soul. **** that teacher... that pisses me off.

Really? Get a teacher fired for telling the truth? Ok ok i get its a myth that young (and stupid) Christian kids like to believe but past 8 years old? C'mon guys maybe a 3 or yr old believing in it is fine but it's just delusional for anyone to try keep up the myth and lies round it past then. So ye, go ahead and make the teacher fired, get some nice old lady who tells everyone santa's real and is very sweet but a ignorant uneducated shit teacher. And i say...what a wonderful world...

Why would a teacher ever assign that? What a stupid ****, ruining a kids childhood

And that is why I will never do Santa with my kids...

Nobody who would do this should be allow to work with children!

I can't believe you would still lie to your kids at that age. So is the teacher the asshole for ruining it, or you for perpetuating a complete lie because it might make Christmas a little bit more fun? My daughter is 6, has always been told Santa was a story and she thinks Christmas is super awesome and wonderful. Also, she is never going to have to get upset about finding out Santa isn't real. Honestly, most parents are ass-backwards with this shit

That teacher should be yelled at! I didn't find out about Santa until I was 12. And even then I have my mother the silent treatment for a day. If I had found out my parents were Santa when I was 8 I would have balled for weeks!

There was a news story about the same thing a few years ago.
