Everyone knows Canada is in Europe ! Vive le Quebec libre !

Well, at least now you don't have to worry about finding the perfect gift for her next birthday. A nice atlas will do nicely I should think.

Ya no wonder Canada's in South America you moron

One of my old friends thought Canada is in Europe (or Africa, can't remember) and thought all of North, South and Central America was the USA. We're both Canadian and even when I showed her the word "Canada" on the map she didn't listen to me.

She says Canada is in Europe (or Africa) and she's Canadian ? Wat.

Show her a map "Canada" *points to Canada*, "South America" *points to South America*.

My school's principal informed the students (me at the time) that back in '07-'09 (somewhere in there) the board of education for the government did a study and found that 70% of high school graduates couldn't point out CHINA on an unmarked globe...Just goes to show you how absolutely STUPID some people can be.

why didn't you show her a map or a globe with the continents and countries labeled?

Ok well unfortunately the girl is kinda right not as a whole but there is one spot in Michigan that is north of Canada. It's sad if she was told that trivia question and holds it as the only truth.

It isn't just that she thinks its south of America, she thinks its all the way down in South America

Damn well wish it was, I would be a hell of a lot warmer!!!

Most Americans aren't taught about Canada. After living in the states and then moving back home to Canada people have no clue about our government or anything. I was never taught about Canada living in the states

Plenty of Americans are knowledgeable about Canada. For some of us, they're very close neighbors.

I live just hours from the border and have never learned anything about Canada. I just know that it is just above the US.

#60 -when i was younger my parents and i drive to florida and on our way back we stopped to have some food at a Dennys ( which was only hours from the border). My mom asked if they took Canadian currency the waitress replied " no.......but can i see it cause ive never seen it before". Meanwhile where i work its expected that we accept it and know what it looks like.

To see how little even politicians in the USA know about Canada, YouTube "Rick Mercer talks to Americans". There are many parts. Canadians follow American Politics, and even debate the elections and policies in our schools, but all the interviewed Americans (famous or not) thought "Poutine" was the name of our "President".
