Asshole
Can't you sue for shit like that? I know around here being fired for something like that is one hell of a lawsuit.
Depends on the state where OP lives. In Florida a boss fired several people for wearing the same color shirts (they were wanting to know who was going to lunch and the boss though that they were having some kind of protest.).
At least he didn't steal your girlfriend...
give the man a cooki... oh wait maybe not
Time to make up with your girlfriend and beg for your job back, OP! Or find a new girlfriend that bakes cupcakes!
Your boss sounds like jerk so at least you don't have to work for him any longer. Good luck on the job hunt. I hope you find a much better job with a better boss. I'd also tell you to sue for wrongful termination but the location of this fml says you submitted this from Texas which is a right to work state so you can legally be terminated at any time for any reason.
"Because I wanted him gone" should be ground for termination everywhere. So many work places have that super lazy douche who pawns work off on everyone else, never showers and makes annoying jokes while people are trying to work. The only reason he's there is to prevent the lawsuit firing him would cause. At will employment solves that problem.
Unfortunately, that means you can be a really good worker and still get fired because your boss is a jerk, or he wanted a position open for his son/nephew, etc. "Right to work" creates more problems than it solves. If a company really wants to get rid of someone for cause, even in a non-right to work state, it's not that hard. They simply have to document the issue.
Can't you somehow report him for that? I don't know anything about that, but that doesn't seem like any plausible reason to fire you...
Point blank.... Send his wife a note that he's a cheating lying dirtbag and cheated with you. That you are sorry. Payback is a b!#*!
The OP is a male.
You don't think ruining a marriage (assuming the boss is even in one) is a little on the excessive side?
Wrongful termination suit anyone?

Sounds like your boss is a dick.
Is that even legal?
