Today, after being diagnosed with cat allergies, I explained to my cat-loving boyfriend that the doctor strongly recommended not allowing the cat in the bedroom. At 1:30 a.m. my boyfriend got out of the bed to go sleep in the spare room because, "the cat is sad." FML

I am allergic to cats too. I wish I could have one but can't, but at least I am not allergic to dogs (I have 2). Maybe see about allergy shots. Over time, you can become immune to cats and eventually get one later. Your ex bf is a dick.

I have visited friends houses who own cats. My eyes get itchy and puffy, and My sinuses very irritated. This is while on allergy medicine (prescription allegra maximum dosage of 100mg plus, medicated eyedrops and nasonex spray) So I think in my situation, allergy shots are the only way I can eventually be around them.

Why would someone think its a good idea to just bring three cats home without discussing the subject with their significant other (if they live together)? If you live in seperate houses, you have no right to demand he get rid of them. But living together, you have a good reason to Leave.

I think he was looking for a reason to ditch you and if you didn't like the THREE kittens he brought home then you would have been out of the door and if you liked them he would have had to come up with something else to get rid of you, but your allergies proved the perfect solution. Your ex sounds like a winner. (NOT) Good luck in the future.
