Today, my boyfriend introduced me to his mom for the very first time. After shaking my hand and looking me up and down, she loudly proclaimed, "She doesn't have the right hips to have kids." FML

my bitching radar alerts me of a mother of mother bitches... sorry OP if this is happening this early in the relationship, don't want to imagine if shit gets real with your boyfruend

That just means you have a fit and slim body.

If that was the worst thing she could of said about you that's great. You response should of been "Why thank you". I mean she did say you had small hips. ?

Are we living in a tribal culture where a woman's fertility is judged by how broad her hips are and a man's virility by how broad his chest is?

It would be interesting to flip that around. Broad chested women and wide hipped men. lol

its okay at least je didn't break up with you because theu didn't like you after 2 years of dating

You also have the other side of the coin, where people have literally told me I have breeding hips. Apparently if you're a woman it's ok to make comments like that since our primary function is baby making. FYL op. But also feel free to make a comment about how at least you'll be able to bring intelligence to the family

She's kind of right in a sense since bigger hips usually means easier for birth

the size of a woman's hips has absolutely nothing to do with how easy it is to give birth.

Considering that's the first time you've met her, I don't think that should be her biggest concern at the moment. And regardless, it's kind of rude to point that out, especially out loud and upon just barely meeting you. Hopefully you manage to win her over. Then the hips won't be a focus in her mind.
